A single infeed conveyor receives products from an upstream cooling tunnel, metal detector, or manual loading station, and an intelligent product alignment and diverting system splits the product stream evenly into two parallel pillow packing lanes. Each lane is a fully independent pillow packaging unit with its own film unwinding mechanism, forming tube, longitudinal sealing jaw, end sealing jaw, and discharge conveyor.
2. Sinking Film Feed System
The sinking film feed design positions the film unwind assembly and dancer roller system above the packing lanes, with film descending vertically into the forming area. This gravity-assisted film path offers several advantages over conventional horizontal or bottom-fed configurations. Film tension remains more uniform throughout the forming and filling cycle because gravity naturally removes slack before the film enters the forming tube. The vertical descent path minimizes film-to-machine contact points, reducing friction-induced static buildup and the risk of film surface scratches. Additionally, the elevated film roll position makes roll changes faster and more ergonomic for operators — film rolls can be loaded at chest height without bending or lifting from floor level.
3. Individual Lane Control with Touch Screen Monitoring
Each packing lane is driven by its own set of servo motors — one for the longitudinal sealing rollers, one for the end sealing jaw assembly, and one for the film feed — all synchronized through a centralized PLC controller. The HMI touch screen provides a split-view interface displaying real-time operational data for both lanes simultaneously: current speed in packs per minute, bag length setting, sealing jaw temperatures (top, bottom, center for each lane), film consumption rate, production counters, and alarm status.
4. Product Alignment System for Bar-Shaped Items
Bar-shaped products present unique packaging challenges — they must enter the forming tube in consistent orientation (parallel to film travel direction), with controlled spacing between consecutive products to ensure clean end seals without product entrapment. The JY-L600S2 incorporates a dedicated product alignment and singulation module before the diverting station. Products arriving in bulk or irregular spacing are singulated into a single-file stream, oriented longitudinally, and spaced at programmable intervals before being split into the two packing lanes.
5. Auto Film Splicing on Both Lanes
Film roll changes are a common source of downtime in high-speed packaging lines. The JY-L1000S addresses this with automatic film splicing systems on both packing lanes. Each lane has a dual-roll film unwind station: one active roll feeding the machine and one standby roll pre-loaded and ready. When the active roll diameter decreases to a preset threshold, the splicing mechanism detects the film tail via a photoelectric sensor, positions the standby film leader, and applies adhesive transfer tape to create a seamless film splice — all while the machine continues running at production speed.
